Day 73, P90X

Day 73 of P90X!!! I've only missed 3 workouts; unfortunately 2 of those were in the past 3 days (Yoga and Chest and back). The break felt good though, and I came back strong last night with Plyo. Maybe a little too strong though because my left foot and my hip bones hurt today. Of course that could be because I was dumb and took out my inserts.
We (the wonderful group of ladies I workout with) have been talking about what workout we'd like to do next, so last week I tried Insanity. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be, but I did have bad lower back pain and hip issues for a couple of days afterwards. I'm thinking it's not for me. It was a lot of fun though - wish I wasn't such an old lady! I tried the ab routine too - that was awesome! I'm still on the fence with what to do next. I did like Insanity, but my body wasn't such a fan. I'm not sure it's worth trying to modify since the entire thing is jumping...probably wouldn't get nearly as good of results. The ladies wanted to start running too, but again I'm such an old lady I just don't know. I'm worried about my foot and what pushing a double jogging stroller is going to do. I guess I won't know until I try. I don't have to push it, I can always just stay at my own pace and see where it takes me. Try and avoid crazy hills and such. I do need to get some type of running activity in since the Warrior Dash is in May and it'll be here before I know it!
I'm sad to see P90X coming to an end. I don't think it's because of P90X either. I've really enjoyed spending time with the girls. It's been fun and a nice break. March will be weird for all of us since Chris is leaving for awhile and one of the other girls husband will be gone for some time too. Guess all good things have to come to an end, it's just sad to see it happen. I'll keep you posted.

Photos!

Day1
183 lbs, 39" chest, 38.5" waist, 45" hips, 29" thighs, 14" arms

Day 30
184 lbs, 40" chest, 35" waist, 40.5" hips, 29.5" thighs, 14.5" arms

Day 60
179 lbs, 38" chest, 33" waist, 39" hips, 28" thighs, 12" arms

In 60 days I've lost 4 lbs, 2" in my chest, 5" in my waist, 6" in my hips, 1" in my thighs, 2" in my arms. Not too bad!!

Day 60, P90X

Day 60! Wow! I'm doing it - YEA ME!!! I feel stronger, and better about myself then I have in a long time. Yet I still have this nagging inside me because I'm not getting the results I was expecting. Slightly disappointed that I'm not looking like a lot of the photos on the beachbody site of other P90Xer's, but with my eating still being sporadic (at best) I can't blame it on anyone but myself. I was watching a video with Chris that was on Yahoo the other day about how a lot of those photos they take the after photo and then bloat themselves up for the before photo (all within a 5 hour time span). I'm sure not all people do that, but it makes sense. I also think a good amount of people do the program more then once. I'm not sure I'm motivated enough to do it again. It's been a lot of fun with the girl's, but without them I'm sure I would've given up much sooner. I'm also not a fan of the Yoga workout. My feet and back always feel worse the day after. I think I'm one of those people who might have to wear shoes during Yoga.
Speaking of Yoga, it's on the schedule for tonight as long as Zumba gets done early/on time; otherwise it's Kenpo. I'm finding the workouts this week to be harder. I don't know why. It's a good harder though. We are doing the video's from week 1 and it's been 4 or 5 weeks since we've done them. It's a nice change.

P90X, Day 57

Day 57 of P90X tonight was Chest and Back. I only went through the first round then I had to leave for the tri-meeting. We did take our measurements tonight. I'm doing really well! Here is how I've done the past 30 days...
Chest - down 2"
Waist - down 2"
Hips - down .5"
Thighs - down .5"
Arms - down 2"
Weight - down 5 lbs
We took photos, but I forgot my camera, so I can't post photos tonight. I'm pretty proud of what I've done so far, Chris and my Sister say I'm looking good! In fact, Barb said, "you look skinny!!" YES!
I don't know why but for some reason I really thought that I'd look like all those success stories after 90 days. I think most of those people did at least 2 rounds of P90X - especially the bigger Ladies. I'm definitely seeing some tone, but not major changes like some photos I've seen. I love that I found a wonderful group of Ladies to do P90X with - they keep me motivated and inspired. It's a great thing!
Plyo tomorrow! Bring it!!

To Tri or not to Tri?!?

To Tri or not to Tri?!? That's the question of the night. I did it! I went to the monthly Maryland Triathlon club meeting. The first part was a tad dull with all the business stuff, but then a group of 7 coaches got up and answered a bunch of questions people submitted. This is where it got really interesting, and when I started getting really, REALLY nervous. I left a little after 9. I was getting pretty tired and I'm not feeling so well tonight - my nose has been stuffy all day and my throat is scratchy, so I'm sipping on some tea while I type this - I might slam my head into the keyboard at any time now. UGH.
Okay, so the whole questions with the coaches session was pretty cool. Each coach has tons of experience and seemed to really know their stuff - especially the one guy. Last year 2 of his "students" made it to Nationals and something else really impressive...I'm so tired, sorry. But anyway, one of the questions they answered was about running dismounts in the transition areas. Say what?! Okay, so up until this point I've been thinking about things like can I really do all three sports at one time? I can do them all individually, but together? I never even thought about transitioning from one to the other. Apparently people actually strap shoes to their bikes, and run up to them, hop on, and then just slip their foot into their shoes as they are pedaling, then they take their shoes off and dismount before transitioning to the run. Wow! Am I going to be the only person who will sit down and have to tie their shoes?! Ha, ha. I'm going to get run over. One of the coaches said you should aim to do 30% more of each sport when you train...which I think means I need to get my butt up to 4 miles runs at a time. They said bricks are really important (which I did hear about)...a brick is when you run/bike/run or even just bike/run. They're really important in tri-training. They said it's especially important to run anytime you ride your bike so that your legs get used to that feeling. The one guy said, "so you go on your normal daily 90 minute bike ride, then you go for a mile or two jog just to stretch out your legs." UMMMM...who does that again?! I'm not sure I'm ready for this now - if ever. I still walk/run my jogs.
I'm seriously thinking about putting it off for a year or so, and this year focus on some race running and getting my bike out and riding it. Then next year as I get more confident (and hopefully not pregnant...hey, every other year it seems like I'm pregnant, lets try and get through a year without it!), then maybe I'll do it. I don't think I'm ready...certainly not ready for any of that running dismount stuff or any of the other things they were talking about.  You should've seen the place too - it was packed. Wall to wall people. I was surprised that most of them were older - 50ish I'd say, but no one real young (I'd be surprised if there were any 20 year old's there tonight). That was cool to see.
So anyway, now I'm not really sure what I want to do. I'm terrified that I'm going to get run over. I might contact the club and see about volunteering at a race just to see what it's like, and then go from there. I'm not completely scared off, but it might be another year or so before I attempt one. I'm thinking it's a bit bigger then where I am right now.

Day 52, P90X

Tonight was Kenpo X. I'm still using weights for the punches - feels great! Bodybugg says I burned 470 calories.
Tomorrow I'm going to meet a friend for spin class - at 530AM! OMG - what am I thinking?! I love spin class though so hopefully it's good. We're going to meet Tuesday's and Thursday's. Hopefully it'll help with getting the scale to budge.
