Just One of Those Days

Yesterday was just one of those days for me. Nothing went as planned and if it was going to go wrong - it did. I broke a vase, didn't close the lid right on my protein drink so it leaked all over our cooler and floor as we were trying to get out the door, snapped at the kids too many times, fell over while lunging at the gym (oh yes, yes, I did), had my workout cut short because Denver fell and bit his tongue (lots of blood causing a very freaked out Gold's employee to come running out on the gym floor to find us)...it just goes on and on. Today I just have to laugh about it.
I did manage to get a somewhat decent workout in. We started week 3 (still Phase 1) of Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer. We do legs twice this week. This is the routine:
Leg Extensions
Week 1: 30lbs-12; 35lbs - 12; 40lb-12
Week 2: 40lbs- 12; 45lbs- 12; 50lbs- 12
Week 3: 50lbs- 12, 12, 12
Wide Stance Barbell Squat
Week 1: 20lbs-12; 30lbs- 12; 40lbs- 12
Week 2: 30lbs- 12; 40lbs- 12; 50lbs- 12
Week 3: 40lbs- 12; 50lbs- 12; 60lbs- 12
Walking Barbell Lunge **new exercise
Week 3: 20lbs-12; 30lbs- 12, 12
I started doing my second set and on the 4th one the barbell tilted to the left and my ankle rolled and I fell to the ground. Chris was watching me with this dumbfounded look on his face, "why did you just sit down?" He had no idea I fell...said I looked like I was just sitting down. ROFL! Oh my. There was a trainer right next to me and she didn't even notice. I'm sure some people saw, but no one said anything and I couldn't hear anyone laughing. I just stood back up and continued on with my lunges. I was shaking so bad when I was done - what a mess. I made a point of going slower and trying to keep the barbell weight centered on my shoulders. I felt so silly, but I'm happy I didn't hurt myself.
Single Leg Barbell Deadlift (done with kettlebell) **another new exercise
Week 3: 10lbs- 12; 15lbs- 12, 12
I liked these. They require a lot of balance and concentration. I really felt the pull down my butt and hamstrings.
Lying Leg Curls
Someone was on the machine so we skipped and were going to come back, but never got the chance to.
Seated Calf Raise
Week 1: 20lbs- 12; 30lbs - 12, 12
Week 2: 20lbs-12, 12, 12
Week 3: 20lbs- 12; 50lbs- 12, 12
Standing Calf Raise
Didn't get a chance to do this one either.

I was waiting for Chris to finish his last set of seated calf raises when one of the child care room girls came running up to me. She looked so scared; said Denver fell and was bleeding. I ran after her into the kids bathroom. The sink was full of blood and Denver looked scared, but wasn't crying. They said he was trying to climb up in a chair with his sister and he fell and smacked his mouth on the chair. It looks like he bit his tongue. It bled for a bit, but he let us clean him up. We decided to just call it a day. I doubt he would've wanted to go back to them at that moment. Thankfully, the scene looked a lot worse then what it actually was, so thankful he was okay. It felt like we just weren't meant to go to the gym.
We stopped at Starbuck's after the gym - can't think of a better reason for a coffee can you?! Then headed to Joanne's Fabric so I could get the material for my skirt. It figures that it was one of the only fabrics not on sale. $6.99 a yard. Still pretty cheap for a running skirt! I can't wait to make it. I've got everything sitting out. I'm going to work on it when my son goes down for his nap this afternoon. I'll post photos if it turns out, and probably if it doesn't turn out as well.
We're on Day 4 of the squat challenge (and my added planks). I haven't done them yet today, but I have been doing them. My butt and legs are so sore today!!! I feel them every time I move - great workout!! Not too happy to be doing legs twice this week with an 8k on Sunday. I think they'll enjoy a bit of a break when it gets here!!!
