Tonight was Day 2 of CE/I hybrid and it was crazy! The DVD said 42 minutes, and it was pretty much go, go, go from the start. The first 15 minutes were the "warm-up" um, okay, if that's what you wanted to call that! I was burning 11 cals/min!!! It was followed by some nice stretches and then it went all crazy again.
My favorite was by far the football type drills, I was bummed that we only did one set of those but 3 sets of basketball - ICK! I was doing push-ups on my knees by set 2 and those ski-jumps were just crazy. My arms were screaming at me, and I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be my core screaming instead. I burned around 8 cals/min (mostly because I was on my knees groaning WTH most of the time - LOL). And then, well, it was over. Really?! LOL It makes me feel like I didn't push hard enough, so next week I'll be pushing harder on those basketball drills because that's all there is to the DVD.
I was pouring with sweat during the video (guess I did get enough water today after all!). I'm not sure if I liked it though. It was definitely "insane" but overall I thought P90X plyo did a better job at working me out (my bodybugg said I burned the same amount of calories)...I think I feel this way because P90X plyo was at least doable. I'm not really a fan of workouts that are designed for failure, because really that's how this felt. The people in the video were falling out, we were falling out, I don't know. We'll see how my body feels in the morning. I can feel a dull ache in my lower back right now I know it has to do with those basketball drills...I need to find a way to modify but I'm not sure you can. You're pretty much in the plank position the whole time while running, jumping, in and out with the legs. I can't think of anything else that would cause the lower back pain.
Back to lifting weights tomorrow night - Burn workout with Chalean!
