I did not start off the first week of February bootcamp very well. I was 2 for 4 with the group workouts, but I did make up one on Saturday, so really I was 3 for 4.
I got up and went to the Monday morning class. It was a great workout that was divided up into three different sections: bands, bears and burpees, and body. I started off with bands to get my body warmed up. We did 3 sets of 20 of overhead presses, curls, front and lat raises. Next I hit up the bears and burpees station. I have a love-hate relationship with bear crawls. I hate them because they hurt, but I love them for what they are doing to the shape of my legs. We did bear crawls, burpees, monkey squats, and more burpees, and just like the previous station it was 3 sets of 20. My last station was the body (again 3 sets of 20). This time it was chest to floor pushups, v-ups, supermans, flutter kicks, and squat jumps. I only made it one or two rounds through the body station before camp was over.
Tuesday I went to the evening camp and I killed it! You always get a little nervous when you see a board that has 4 or 5 things listed: lots of white space = pain. The goal was to repeat the circuit 5 times, I crushed it with 6!!! We did 25 swings, 20 sky balls, 100 jump ropes, 25 swings, run a lap, repeat. I'm pretty sure I used 15lb kettle bell for the swings and a 10lb weighted ball for sky balls. It was a great workout! It was also my last bootcamp for the week.
I ran in the sand on Monday and Wednesday this week so by Wednesday night I was feeling really sore. I took Thursday off which lead to Friday being off too. My body needed the break.
Saturday I met up with Rebecca and we did one of the missed workouts. It just happened that the two workouts I missed were partner workouts - makes for a fun "playdate." The one we did involved running while your partner did exercises. It was fun!
My son, Denver, was playing with my phone and captured these two photos of me during my Saturday makeup class. I was beating myself up really good last week about feeling swollen and gaining weight, but when I saw these two images I felt proud. I think my legs look pretty good. I need to stop beating myself up.
Sunday I went for a run. I thought about meeting up with Rebecca to knock out the other missed workout, but I ended up spending three hours at the beach collecting seashells and having fun with my family. It was a great way to end the week!
