Week 2 of February bootcamp is going to be another short one. I've got my big relay in the sand on Sunday and I don't want to kill my legs right beforehand, so I'm skipping the Thursday/Friday camp. The ones I did get in this week were heavy on the legs and running.
Monday was called "Tack It On." We started it off with a 500 yard run and 50 reps of 4 exercises (supermans, mountain climbers, stepups, and dips) followed by 400 yd run, 40 reps; 300 yd run, 30 reps; 200 yd run, 20 reps; 100 yd run, 10 reps; restart if time. I did one round and then the run before I had to get home so Chris could leave for work. It was a great workout and a good way to kick off the week.
Tuesday I went to the evening bootcamp session. Like Monday it started off with running, only it was sprints this time. Sprint 30 seconds, take a 30 second break; sprint 60 sec/30 sec break; sprint 90 sec/30 sec break; sprint 60 sec/30 sec break; sprint 30 sec/30 sec break. We followed that up with a ladder of exercises. Jumping jacks for 30 sec, 30 sec break; jumping jacks for 30 sec, squat pulls for 30 sec, 30 sec break; jumping jacks for 30 sec, squat pulls for 30 sec, overhead presses for 30 sec, 30 sec break; and keep building on with high knees, swings, pushups, and finally hi/low plank. Then when that was all done we repeated the sprints from the beginning. A few ab exercises were thrown in after that and I was done!
Wednesday is supposed to be my weekly run night, but Chris ended up with duty so I missed my run. I made the best of things and went to bootcamp. My heart really wasn't in it. Every other exercise was a sprint (Gassers - down and back twice, as fast as you can go). I took my time on the runs because I didn't need to twist my ankle right before my sand relay. Normally this would've been a great workout, I just wasn't feeling it.
Here is something my trainer posted on facebook this week, and I couldn't agree more:
Alone, it's a paperweight. In your hand, it'll change your life.
