Week 5 of 2,015 in 2015

The first week of February started off my week 5 of 2,015 in 2015. Monday did not start off quite how I was hoping. I was supposed to meet someone for C25K training, but they ended up getting sick, so I had to juggle around some things. I ended up meeting Alyssa at the beach and we went for a 3.5 - 4 mile beach run (one of us needs to get a watch so I can track this better!). It was an absolutely beautiful day to run at the beach and I really enjoyed it!
Tuesday night my outdoor bootcamp involved a lot of running. I don't normally include those numbers in my totals unless it's more then a mile. I ended up doing 1.5, so it counts!
Wednesday was my last sand run before my big relay race on the 15th. It was cold and raining and basically the complete opposite of Monday's beach run. I told myself that I signed up for this so I needed to suck it up and get on with it.
Alyssa ran with me again. She so awesome for putting up with me; I'm pretty sure I complained for most of this run. I wore my raincoat and got hot too fast. Did a lot of walking during the middle of the run because my calf tightened up; however once I started running closer to the water it started to go away. That loose sand gets me every time. I snagged a quick selfie before the run.
I was much happier in my post run selfie with a nice big cup of hot coffee!! Alyssa and I sat in the coffee shop so long chatting that we had TWO cups of coffee. It turned out to be a great morning.
I didn't get any running in on Thursday or Friday; I actually ended up taking both those days off from all workouts. My legs were toast and needed the rest.
Saturday morning I sent a text to Rebecca about running or doing a makeup workout and she said she was heading out the door for a quick run if I wanted to go. Well of course I did! Out the door I went for a quick 2.2 mile run. It was a great way to start my Saturday.
Sunday morning I hit up the trails with Bryan again. He was aiming for a marathon and I was aiming for anything close to 10. We did a 5 mile loop together and then a another mile before he headed off to do his longer run and I headed back to the car. I did two 5 mile loops for a total of 10 miles. The first 5 were nice and slow, but once Bryan left me I flew down the trails. The first mile alone was glorious, the next 3 were a little tougher which is what I get for being so speedy. Someday I will learn how to pace myself.
Bryan got a new camera that has a timer, so he snagged a photo before we headed out to the trails.
He was being sneaky during the run - I never even saw him take this picture! I spend a lot of time looking at his feet/ground when we run. It's been so long since I ran trails that I'm a little more cautious while running.
It was another great week of running. I've been really enjoying tracking my miles and running on different surfaces. Running in sand and on trails again has really helped me find my groove again with running.
