Week 1 of January Camp

Wow am I sore! I thought the workouts in BLAST were tougher then we had this week, but I'm a lot more sore then I was in December. I'm sure it has everything to do with increasing the amount of weight I'm lifting (and the slight overindulgence while visiting family).
Monday was the start of a new month for bootcamp, so Troy took our measurements. I'm impressed with how I did considering all the extra stuff that went on in December. Down 1" everywhere except my bust and weight even went down a pound. I'll take it!
The workout for Monday was a good one and a great start to a new month. We opened up with running two laps. The workout itself was a countdown. We started with 20 of each exercise, then 18, 16, 14, etc down to 2. Then run another 2 laps. I made it down to 8 and then had to head home so Chris could go to work. I decided that if I wanted results this year then I needed to go heavier. I grabbed the 20 pound kettle bell and a 12 pound kettle bell. I used the 20 for all the exercises: swings, rows, and flutter kick with chest presses, but I had to use the 12 for the thrusters. Those thrusters kick my butt every time. I was super sore the next morning!
Tuesday I did two workouts. I ran on the beach in the morning and then went to bootcamp that evening. I'll recap the run when I do an update of my weekly miles for the 2015 challenge. Bootcamp was another great workout, but it involved lots of running and my legs were already very sore from Monday's workout and my sand run. It was called Goblet Tabata (Tabata in my bootcamp class means four minutes of an exercise). We had 5 exercises on the board and we finished each with a suicide before getting a small break and heading on to the next set. He did 45 seconds of a plank or burpees after each set...which was fine until the last set when we had to do 45 seconds of both then the suicide. I was done. The fourth set of suicides I felt like I was running on jello. I talked myself up and finished the last set of suicides strong, but I was definitely toast when this workout was over. I can't remember what weight I used; I think it might have been 12. We did squats, situps, lunges, more thrusters, and some ab work. Afterwards I soaked in epsom salt, rubbed on some biofreeze, put on my compressions, and even foam rolled some. I was still sore the next day. Ugh!
On Wednesday a burst of cold came to Florida. We've been below freezing for three days, so bootcamp got moved inside. It messes up my schedule when that happens, so I missed the Wed/Thurs workout this week. Thursday night I had Chris meet me at the church where we do the indoor workouts so he could take the kids and I could workout. It was 45 minutes of ab work and jumping rope. My abs were so sore when we were done!
Friday (today), I made up the Wed/Thurs workout I missed. It was called, "I hate you." Yep, that one again.
It was painful especially after all abs yesterday, those v-ups were brutal. Great workout though.
Week one is in the books. I'm now ready to roll into week 2 of my year long get fit challenge!! Speaking of challenge, Fixed on Fitness (FOF) is doing a six-week challenge for $25. I signed up! I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead. I've got big goals this year and I'm planning on busting out of this two year plateau!!
