November Goals

November goals. I can't talk about the month of November without thinking of a few things: Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, my daughter's birthday, and Chris's homecoming (fingers crossed for that one!!). I love this time of year! There is so much to be thankful for these days.
I've got a lot of things going on right now, so I'm hoping my goals will help me get organized. I did like my goals last month even if I was only 1 for 3! So, here goes:

1. To bust into the 150's.
I will do it this month! No more sliding off track. It's only 2 lbs away. I've so got this!! I just need to remember that Thanksgiving is only ONE day, not an entire week worth of over eating. In fact there is no reason to overeat on Thanksgiving. I just need to choose wisely and remember portion control.

2. Complete the Pile on the Miles Challenge.
My goal for this challenge is to do 85 miles in the month of November. That's 21.3 miles per week. That number seems so big!! I want 15 of those to be running miles. I'm going to need a plan to get there, so that will be my next blog. I think it'll help immensely to have a schedule of how many miles to walk/run each day per week so I don't feel overwhelmed with the numbers.

3. To lift 3 times a week.
I miss lifting. I feel stronger when I'm lifting weights, so this month I will make more of an effort to go into the weight section at the gym. I now know why the 6 week plan I posted before never worked for me - it takes a long time AND it gets boring after two weeks of the same thing. I'll have to start searching for something that doesn't take as long and changes it up (seriously, the same routine 3 times a week every week...it got old; probably why I truly stopped doing it).

4. To log every BLT (Ha, ha! Took that one from my Sister)
BLT - Bite, Lick, Taste. I do better when I log what I eat. This month I'm going to focus on logging it all. If I stay on track at the end of the month My Fitness Pal will say I've logged for 30 days. That's my goal; even with Thanksgiving right in the middle of all of it!

5. To complete my first 10k and 11k!
Funny thing about this one is that I'm doing my 11k before my 10k!! I registered to do a virtual 11k (about 6.9 miles; I will probably run 7 miles) on Veteran's Day. I stumbled across the website two days ago. 100% of the proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project. It's such a great cause and I'm so proud to be a part of it! Since I'm a Veteran it cost me $11 to sign up for the race, so I sponsored a veteran for another $11 and I donated $20 to the cause. That brought the cost up to a normal race price. And, since you know me, I'm all about the swag...this race comes with a t-shirt, a bib, a pin (below), and a medal too (I believe). I think it's cool that a virtual race provides bibs!! I'm so excited to run this "race." I posted it on my facebook running page and as of right now another girl is going to join me.
My 10k is the following weekend. It's a Turkey Trot 10k (I'm pretty sure I posted about this one before too)...that one has an awesome medal too!! I'm super excited for both of these runs.

So, those are my goal's for November. We shall see how it goes. I was pretty optimistic going into October, and I completely blew it, so this month I'm going to focus on my goal's one week at a time and see how it goes.
