November Reminder

I saw this poster on facebook two days ago and wanted to blog about it yesterday. I wish I would've then maybe it would've kept me from my mindless eating. It was pretty cold here yesterday...I had 3 cups of coffee (not that I really need an excuse to drink that much coffee). The problem are the Costco pumpkin muffins I have in the freezer. I thawed one yesterday and I had half with a mid-morning coffee, and, sadly, the other half later in the day. They are so moist and pumpkin-y - LOVE them! I had two days in a row of keeping my eating under 1800 calories, yesterday that darn muffin put me at 2000 calories (half a muffin is just under 400 calories). In the great scheme of things it won't change the scale as long as I rein it back in.
Instead of heading to the gym yesterday I met a friend for a walk; it was pretty cold out there. I was wearing gloves and a fleece coat and I still got cold. We only walked a little over a mile - that was more then enough time in the cold with the kiddos. My mid-morning coffee did the trick of warming me up! Around 4ish when my son went down for his nap my daughter and I were playing and I thought a cup of coffee sounded good and so did the other half of that pumpkin muffin. I indulged. I will NOT be buying any more of those darn muffins! Because this morning...yea, I defrosted another one and had half with my morning coffee. That was an hour ago and now I'm hungry again. Should've just stuck to oatmeal. 400 calories of oatmeal is so much more filling then the 400 empty calories of the pumpkin muffin.
So, November, I'm not going to let you get away from me like the past two months. I'm reining it in again today. No more excuses. In fact, after I get a chance to chat with my hubby (which will hopefully be soon), then I'm headed to the gym for a 3 mile run followed by some laps at the mall with Tabitha.

Update: I just hopped on facebook and saw this poster...
Replace that pie slice with Costco Pumpkin muffin - I AM better than that, and so are you! So let's rein it in and say "NO" to NOvember being a bad month.
