We got the first snow fall of the year yesterday - only an inch, but it got covered in ice making the best sledding weather! We took the kiddos out for about 2 hours (I burned 508 calories!!!). It was such a great family day. Katelynn ended up staying late so by 9pm when she went to bed I was not in any mood to start Yoga, so I skipped it. Seriously, I still hate P90X Yoga. It is my least favorite workout and I will always find just about any excuse to not do it.
Here are two pics from our sledding adventure...
We walked the trails on base (I was pulling her sled with a bungee cord) and every time we got to a clearing I would swing my arms and Katelynn would laugh and slide out in big circles.
Today is Sunday, so it was swim day with my Sister. We did 30 minutes, but only 10 laps this time. We tried something new (her physical therapy doctor told her to try swimming with a dumbbell), and it really slowed us down (okay, maybe not REALLY since we only did 2 less laps and I only used it for one lap). I'm a terrible swimmer. For some reason I get nervous putting my head under water, so I probably look like I'm thrashing around instead of swimming. I like the back stroke - it's always my fastest lap. Right now we will swim one together (with a kickboard), then we'll free style and repeat. I'm really enjoying just being in the water. Next month it will be time to start adding on laps so I can prepare for the triathlon.
This evening after Denver went to bed I put in Yoga. I was feeling guilty about not doing it yesterday, so I just sucked it up and went with it. Katelynn thought it looked fun, so she joined me. When I went into my first downward dog she climbed underneath me and laid down. LOL. I got Chris to put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the computer and I finished the rest solo.
Here she is stretching with me...
and using the Yoga blocks!
Oh, and just another reason for me to hate Yoga...in 90 minutes I only burned 300 calories. SIGH. I mean, I'm not really surprised since you don't really move a lot, but some of the moves are just ridiculous and I feel like I should get extra calorie burn just for attempting them!
Tomorrow night it's back to working out with the girls - YEAH!! It's push-up day - Bring it!
